I attended the June 20, 2024, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Commissioners Gohagan and Skelton were present.
The only agenda item was Planning & Zoning – PZ24-0048 Laramie/Stephens – 1127 Paradise Ln, Osage Beach, MO – REZONE I-1 to R-1.

Laura Stransky was present as the real estate agent representing the purchaser of the property.
When the buyer ordered an appraisal, it was discovered that the property was actually zoned as Industrial. There is already a residence built there.
Nobody else was present to speak for or against the re-zone.
The re-zoning request was approved unanimously by the Commission.
Commissioner Gohagan encouraged everyone to watch the State Representative debate from the night before (June 19). Both commissioners expressed disappointment at some of the things State Representative Lisa Thomas said at the debate. (More on that later.)
Commissioner Gohagan said that he wished Representative Thomas had as much energy in Jeff City fighting for our area as she did at the debate fighting against her own constituents. Commissioner Skelton agreed and suggested that the voters should watch it.
Gohagan also mentioned that he didn’t appreciate the disparaging comments Thomas made about the lake itself, stating that she was calling it “the most dangerous, terrible lake.” Gohagan was opposed to her suggestions that would, in his opinion, bring more regulations to the lake.
Here’s a link if you didn’t get a chance to watch the debate. It was pretty spicy:
And that was that.
