I attended the September 24, 2024, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Commissioners Gohagan and Skelton were present.
The first agenda item was “Kendal Dishman w/ Globe Life – Liberty National Division to discuss life insurance options for county employees.”
She ended up presenting second because she was late to the meeting. Traffic in Marshfield.
She was selling life insurance and wanted to be able to sign up county employees through Camden County Human Resources. After hearing her pitch, the commissioners agreed to let her coordinate with the HR Department so that employees could pay for the insurance with payroll deductions.
The second agenda item was “2024 Missouri Bell Telecom, Inc. Agreement for Services.”
This contract was to repair and maintain the existing physical phone line system for the county. It was not an exclusive agreement, but it established rates at $75/hour and $112.50/hour for emergency repairs. The biggest change to the contract was that Commissioner Gohagan negotiated the trip fee from $30 per visit to a $300 annual flat fee.
This contract was retroactive to January 24, 2024.
The contract was approved unanimously.
And that was that. They can’t all be barn burners, folks.
