November 5, 2024, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

I attended the November 5, 2024, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

Commissioners Gohagan and Skelton were present.

The first agenda item was “October 2024 Tax Abatements.”

The tax abatements were unanimously approved by the Commission.

The second agenda item was “Board of Adjustments board appointment.”

(The Board of Adjustment hears appeals and grants variances from the county’s Unified Land Use Code. They handle Special Use Permits, some appeals from the Planning Commission, and address errors made during the enforcement of the code.)

Laura Martin was unanimously approved as a new member of the Board of Adjustment. (This is one of those jobs nobody cares about until they have an issue with a nearby property.)

The third agenda item was “Agreement w/Epic Consulting to continue IT services at the Sheriff’s Dept until the new IT company starts.”

Huber & Associates is going to be the new IT provider for the Sheriff’s Office. This agreement just extended the contract with the Sheriff’s current IT provider until the Huber contract begins.

The Commission agreed unanimously to extend the contract.

The final agenda item was “Tiffany Redel w/Washington National Insurance – discuss services/benefits they provide.”

Tiffany Redel was not present at the meeting and the commissioners were not inclined to wait around for her to show up.

Hooterville waits for no man. Or woman, for that matter.

And that was that.
