I attended the September 30, 2025, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

All commissioners were present.
The first agenda item was “Sheriff – bid opening – 250930 Inmate Medical Services – .”
There were five bids received.
Cardinal Correctional Care bid $302,000.
T&K Health bid $356,000.
Southern Health Partners bid $299,676.
Jay Kay Medical Staffing bid $352,000.
Advanced Correctional Healthcare Incorporated is the current inmate medical services provider and they offered a tiered level of services ranging from $260,000 up to $600,000 for 3 on site staff and a mental health specialist. They currently charge the Sheriff’s Office $309,000 annually for their services.
Sheriff’s Captain Brian Vinson told the Commission the jail’s old medical contract was for an inmate population of 105, but the current bid request is for 120 inmates.
The Commission voted unanimously to table the bids so they could be reviewed by Captain Vinson.
The second agenda item was “Assessor – SAM scope of services/proposal for additional GIS services – $8,750.”
The representative from the Assessor’s Office explained that this additional cost was necessary because two mappers in the Assessor’s Office are preparing to retire and they need the vendor to verify that the legal descriptions and boundaries of the county’s various taxing districts are accurate before a new mapper takes over.
The Commission unanimously approved this additional expenditure.
And that was that.
