I attended the January 5, 2026, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.
(Typed the correct year for the first post of 2026. Phew.)
All commissioners were present.
The first agenda item was “Road Petitions.”
The first road petition was for 1557 Alta Drive in Roach. According to the property owner, the road was never built and the proposed roadway is in a subdivision. The neighbors have signed off on the petition and the owner showed the commissioners proof that he had posted the notices publicly.
The Commission voted unanimously to approve this petition.
The next road petition was for Oak Road in the Cacciatorre Cove subdivision.
There was nobody present for or against it. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve it.
The third road petition was 1710 Sagrada Road in the Lazy Acres subdivision in Edwards. The owner owned the property on both sides of the road.
It was approved unanimously.
The final road petition was also in the Lazy Acres subdivision at the intersection of Sagrada Road and Outlook Drive.
The owner was present at the meeting. Nobody opposed it.
The Commission approved this petition unanimously.
The second agenda item was “Sheriff – Village of Four Seasons Agreement for Law Enforcement Services for 2026.”
Presiding Commissioner Skelton confirmed with the Sheriff’s representative that the contract was the same as last year’s contract.
It was approved unanimously by the Commission.
The final agenda item was “251223 Printing Bid Award.”
Three bids were received. The bids from Page Printing and Lake Printing were accepted.
And finally, in Public Comment, Commissioner Gohagan stated that the Commission, the County Auditor, and the Sheriff had a ministerial meeting regarding the budget. During the meeting, the Auditor informed the Commission that the final numbers for 2025 were in.
For 2025, Camden County brought in $42 million in revenue and had $41 million in expenditures.
Presiding Commissioner Skelton commented that these numbers should illustrate that the county did not spend over its budget in 2025.
And that was that.
