All commissioners were present although Don Williams only arrived at the end of the meeting.
I appeared to be the only non-County employee present besides Stacey Pyrtle who was there for the sole agenda item.
The only agenda item for this meeting was the Bike Trail Endorsement Resolution. A resolution had been prepared for the County Commission in support of the Lake of the Ozarks Trail Initiative. It promoted support for the Magic Dragon multi-service trails for the economic and community development of Camden County. This biking trail proposal had been previously presented to the commissioners at a meeting.
Stacy Pyrtle spoke to the Commission and stated they are working on securing funding through grant applications. Potential sources of grant funding are being sought from Bass Pro Shops and a RAISE grant from the federal government. They are also seeking contributions from Home Depot and Walmart for construction materials. A biking skills park is currently being laid out for design.
The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the resolution.
And that was that.
I will also be attending next week’s meeting of the Camden County MO Republican Club on May 18, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at The Inn at Grand Glaize at 5412 Osage Beach Parkway, Osage Beach, MO. They ask that you RSVP to (573) 873-8795 if you plan to attend. They are serving dinner at 6:00 p.m. prior to the meeting. Herb Brownell will be the guest speaker. They also have a Facebook Group with more information. This will be my first time attending the meeting and I hope to see some of you there.
