June 7, 2022 Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

I attended the June 7, 2022 Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

All commissioners were present.

There were six or seven people in the audience besides the usual Camden County employees who normally attend.

The first agenda item was for County Clerk-Bids HAVA Election Equipment.

There was only one bid from Adkins Election Services for $142,320. This purchase will replace the ballot boxes currently used by the County Clerk’s Office.

Clerk Rowland Todd asked the Commission to table this item so he could review the bid.

The item was tabled unanimously.

The second agenda item was Mid County Fire Vehicles – ARPA.

This item was brought back from a previous meeting. Commissioner Williams said that Mid County Fire assists a lot of other fire districts on responses. Commissioner Gohagan stated their trucks are old and the district recently lost 3 cents off of their tax levy.

Commissioner Gohagan made a motion to use $165,000 in ARPA money to replace three of the fire district’s first response trucks. The Commission approved this unanimously.

The third agenda item was Appoint TIF Members for Osage Beach. The Commission needs to appoint two commissioners to sit on the TIF Board. I believe this is for the Fosters’ Peninsula Development project.

Edit: I later found out that this was for the Outlet Mall in Osage Beach. It wasn’t clear from how they were talking about it.

Commissioner Hasty made a motion to appoint Gohagan to the TIF Board because the development is in his district. This passed unanimously.

Commissioner Williams made a motion to appoint Commissioner Hasty to the TIF Board. This also passed unanimously.

The final agenda item was for the May tax abatements. The abatements were approved unanimously.

And that was that.
