May 22, 2025, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

I attended the May 22, 2025, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

All commissioners were present.

The first agenda item was “Bid Opening-250522-A Sheriff’s Uniform Bid.”

There were two bids for this item. Gall’s Uniform was the first bid. The second bid was from Southern Uniform and Tactical DBA First Responders Outfitters.

The Sheriff’s representative recommended that both bids be accepted since different vendors had different items in stock at various times.

The Commission accepted both bids unanimously.

The second agenda item was “Bid Opening-250522-B Sheriff’s Body Armor.”

There were also two bids for this agenda item. One was from First Responder Outfitters. The other bid was from Public Safety Outfitter LLC. The Sheriff’s representative recommended that both bids be accepted for the same reason given for the uniform bids.

The Commission approved both bids unanimously.

The final agenda item was “Curran & Associates-Contract for Land Title Abstracting & Transactional Legal Services.”

County Attorney Charlie Dickman asked the Commission to table this item.

The Commission voted unanimously to table it.

In Old Business, Commissioner Gohagan stated that he and the County Attorney met with Judge Daniels regarding wrapping up the the lodging tax business district and the remaining lodging tax revenue since the lodging tax system was found to be unconstitutional. There appear to be some entanglements involving mortgages and property leases that will need to be resolved before the whole lodging tax mess can be put to bed. Hopefully, we will have more clarity on this in the future.

And that was that.
