I attended the February 10, 2026, Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.
All commissioners were present.
The only item on the agenda was “Camden County UTV Ordinance and Policies.”
Presiding Commissioner Skelton stressed that this ordinance applied only to county roads. State roads like KK and roads inside incorporated municipalities were excluded.
The ordinance would require owners to apply for permits from the Camden County Commission.
There was a discussion regarding where the fines from violations of this ordinance should be deposited. The Sheriff was adamant that his office should not benefit from the fines. The Commission considered that the money might go to Road and Bridge. Ultimately it was decided the fines would be deposited into a UTV line item.
