April 4, 2023 Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

I attended the April 4, 2023 Camden County Commission meeting at 10:00 a.m.

All commissioners were present.

This meeting was held in the conference room of the Commission Building.

The first agenda item was Health Department Computer Changes.

The Administrator of the Camden County Health Department wants to bring her departments’s computers onto the county network. The plan is to upgrade their internet connection, deploy a firewall to protect their systems, and isolate their network from WIC and Medical Missions For Christ.

Commissioner Gohagan commented that he has spent some time working over at the Health Department and their systems run very slowly.

Commissioner Skelton explained that the State of Missouri currently pays for the department’s internet, but that funding is being phased out. Skelton also mentioned that the county’s server needs to be replaced soon because “it’s on its last leg.”

The second agenda item was GFI Lease Agreement Renewal – Assessor.

This sounded like a lease for brand new copier/printers that will be used by the Assessor’s Office. The cost increased $50 from last year to $1388 per month. The Assessor recommended the lease be renewed.

This was approved unanimously.

After the agenda was complete, Commissioner Skelton stated that the lead remediation and cleaning of the courthouse has started. Spartan has guaranteed to finish within 3 weeks. The county will conduct another wipe test once the cleaning is completed.

And that was that.
